Ahmad Rashad Really Likes Being On TV

 

Ahmad Rashad was, of course, a quality Vikings wide receiver for many years.  However, in his post-playing career Ahmad Rashad is most well known for his willingness to shill for any half-baked television show that will stick a camera in front of his face. 

Have you ever been at a game where some jerkwad proposes to his girlfriend on the Jumbotron?  This ridiculous trend has been plaguing the sports landscape for at least twenty-five years.  It is inane, presumptuous, and, nowadays, unoriginal.  How did this miserable trend get started?  I blame Ahmad Rashad.

It was during one of his many television appearances that Ahmad Rashad proposed to his wife on live TV.  He cheesed it up gushing all over Phylicia Rashad (aka Mrs. Huxtable).  Prior to this incident I do not recall hearing about or ever seeing one of these unholy unions between sports and marriage proposals.  Yet, after this incident, the sporting event/Jumbotron/public proposal became commonplace.  Thank you, Ahmad Rashad.  Thank you for ruining timeouts at sporting events for the rest of eternity.
