Metropolitan Stadium could never measure up to the Metrodome… If we are measuring crappiness

 

The original home of the Minnesota Vikings was Metropolitan Stadium.  During the team’s time in Metropolitan Stadium, a trip to the Vikings’ home stadium was a truly intimidating experience.  The Purple People Eaters were born in Metropolitan Stadium.  Four Super Bowl participants were forged in Metropolitan Stadium.  The cold and the wind and the snow that Minnesota produces was like another player on the field for the Minnesota Vikings at the Old Met.

Then the team moved to the Metrodome and Metropolitan Stadium was demolished.  The Minnesota Vikings quickly became a weak, dome team who has yet to make it back to the Super Bowl.  I refuse to believe that this is all merely coincidence.
