Are you a Minnesota Viking?
Then do not refer to them as “we”. None of us can claim to be a Minnesota Viking. Now if you are a person who lets everyone in your life down and constantly disappoints people who care about you, then call yourself a Minnesota Viking.
I must confess to listening to a dangerous amount of sports talk radio. It is a proven scientific fact that too much sports talk radio will eventually make you stupider. However, despite my lack of medical credentials, I know for a fact that I have yet to reach a permanent level of damage because I still become enraged whenever a caller or commentator refers to the team as “we”.
This caller or commentator will say something dumb like “’we’ need to run the ball more” or “it is important that ‘we’ generate more turnovers”. To all of those who engage in this grammatical buffoonery I ask you this: Are you a Minnesota Viking? Are you a player, coach, or part of management? No? Then you do not have the right to say “we” when speaking about the Minnesota Vikings. Everybody on the planet is fully aware that you would like to be a Minnesota Viking. But you are not. You are a fan of the team. Please stop with the “we” business.
Even if you're pissed off about what I just wrote, I still think you should read “My Least Favorite Team is My Favorite Team”
